William Edward Cureton, Jr. is the founder of Image and Glory of God Ministries. He was born and raised in Oconee County, SC. He graduated from Walhalla High School. He received a B.S. degree in Mathematical Sciences with a minor in Operations Research from Clemson University. He attended theological courses for a Master of Divinity from the New Orleans Theological Seminary.

William was first licensed to preach at the age of 16 from his dad, and his first pastor, Rev. W.E. Cureton, Sr. (William’s father is the current pastor of the St. Peter Apostolic Missionary Baptist Church, and former pastor and founder of the Prayer House Bible Mission Church, both in Seneca, SC.)
William is also a self-taught keyboard musician. William has been playing piano and keyboard for gospel choirs and church bands since he was 19.

In 1988, William was first ordained in the Missionary Baptist association, and called to be the pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Avondale, AL, located in the greater Birmingham area. After a few years, the church was re-structured to be an interdenominational ministry under the new name: Mt. Moriah Full Gospel Baptist Church.

In 1999, William moved his congregation to a new building and location in the Eastlake area of Birmingham. The new church name was: Eastlake Full Gospel Baptist Church.

In 2001, William felt the need to step out of the role of full time traditional pastor. God was preparing him the next major level of his personal life and gospel ministry. God was now getting him prepared for the role as a national apostolic, evangelistic, pastoral, and revivalist minister. This was the beginning of the vision for the “Image and Glory of God Ministries”.

William married a mighty woman of God originally from Columbus, Ohio named Peggy in 2007. Peggy was a long time friend and prayer partner of his ministry for many years during his preaching period at the Mount Moriah Full Gospel Church. Peggy’s kingdom gifts include prophetic vision and utterance, intercessory prayer, and hospitality services (just to name a few). Peggy and William also complement each other in their organic gardening services business and ministry: “Captain Compost”. (www.captaincompostalabama.com)

In 2008, William and Peggy joined forces with the Bridge Christian Church, founded by Pastor Michael French. They were later ordained as servant-leader elders in the church in 2013. They worked at the Bridge Church in the function of Bible teaching, worship music, food ministry, and social services ministries for 7 years.

In 2015, William and Peggy felt the need to branch out and bring their spiritual gifts back into the traditional churches. During this time, God opened a door to create a unique interdenominational network. One of the first churches was the West Tabernacle Baptist Church of Birmingham, AL, through the senior pastor Curtis Wynn. William taught an apostolic Bible study and worship service at this church on Wednesdays at 7PM for about one year at that location.

Currently every week, William is producing a new sermon video on his Facebook ministry website: “Image and Glory of God Ministries“. These messages contain deep, powerful, revelations, and insights on what God is saying and doing today in the Body of Christ in these last days before the Rapture of the Church and the Millennial Reign of Christ.

When William and Peggy are not in Birmingham, they travel and ministry in north Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia.
William’s ministry style and vision is to bridge the gap between traditional church ministries (i.e. Baptist), with full gospel ministries (i.e. Pentecostal, Full Gospel, and Charismatic) via the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. William and Peggy’s desire is to reach the world with a deep, rich, understanding of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ now under the Dispensation of Grace, and the future millennial Kingdom of Christ and the glorified saints of God.
